Sent my Kenetreks in for the fourth time to get resoled, they said that the rest of the boot was to far gone and the cobbler wouldn't resole them. Turns out new pair is 490 bucks 🤨.

Any other suggestions for a pair of Safety toe/ hiking boots? Preferably a pair I can resole every year.

Have you looked at the Danner Quarry Boot? Its more of a work boot but its supportive and solid, even though they don't make them the same.

You need to be careful with resoling too much, IF your resoling the boot it has seen better days, no matter what you do to revive it, it simply cant get squared up again which can lead to foot related issues... We have seen it many times!!!!

Thanks for the info. I walk on balast all day and it wears soles out really fast. I found resoling a boot was more affordable then buying new ones every year haha

I'll give the danners a look, I tried a set about 10 years ago and the sole was gone and the boot fell apart in a year, I can't remember which model though.

If you want one thats built better check out the Danner Super Rain Forest.

This is what I'm currently wearing and they meet all the requirements of the railroad. I assume you are working on or around rail in some capacity.

This is my second pair of Redwings and these feel more like a hiking boot than a work boot. Really lightweight and comfortable.
