Need a new day pack meat hauler

For the lightest setup, yet plenty capable of hauling 100-ish lb loads, I'd look at the Seek Outside Revolution frame w/ one of their day packs (20 or 38 liters)—dependant on how much capacity you need for your day hunts.

You can also keep frame extenders in the bag until needed, this gives you a slightly shorter pack until you need to lengthen it for heavy loads.

Second this. I use the Silverton on my revo frame. I also have a Goshawk for backpacking purposes. AS he stated, it is easy to change the frame height. I am pretty tall so I use the 2-inch stays normally and then switch to the 4-inch stays when it gets real heavy. Takes 3-5 minutes to switch out the stays.

Plus one for the seek outside revolution frame. I run it with just a talon and a load shelf on my super lightweight days. You can always add one of their bags if you need more capacity. I really like how light the base weight is, how comfortable the frame is to my body, and how well it carries weight. Highly recommend.

IA with lid and meat paneer.
Seconded. Can't say enough good things about this setup. Carries the weight like nothing I've used before. With the lid, panier, and a hip belt pouch and water bottle pouch, I can carry everything I need for a full day in the field.

I use an Exo K3 3200 and love it. Compresses down small enough for a day pack, or can tote everything I need for a week in the wilderness. Carried 2 elk out with it and a couple deer. Handles loads better than my legs can.

My hunting spouse uses the Eberlestock Mainframe with just the 2 batwings. Elk quarters ride in between the batwings. It’s a slick setup.

Lots of options, as said already. Just gotta find the frame/belt that fits best.

I've done quite a few miles and elk, mule deer, and sheep on a mainframe with two original batwing setup. Mainframe relegated to sandbag duty now but works like a champ.

Like I mentioned above - for day use I really like the simplicity, tidiness and lack of a gaggle of "spaghetti straps" using a single large batwing riding on the Mod frame's load sling and a lid.

For those with experience with a K2 and K4 frame, what are the big advantages? Is there a noticeable difference in comfort at loads over 50 pounds. Ride better? Is the K2 a much lesser frame and system?

Just added a Kifaru 22 Mag bag to my ARK frame setup.
Hope to put it to use this fall.
Seems like it’s gonna make for a nice day pack, and should haul just fine.

I had the K3 and I seem to remember the K2 and K3 were similar. I had slipping over 50lbs and the belt would sag.

The K4 was designed to correct those problems.

I am in the same position and currently shopping/researching. First elk hunt in September but I have lots of points built up in multiple states.

For this hunt we are using horses, so really just need a day pack with hauling capability just incase the elk dies somewhere unable to get to with the horses.

I am debating between getting a mystery ranch on sale ( sawtooth 45 or pop up 40 ~300$) or biting the bullet and getting a Kifaru + 22 mag or an exo +2200 (650-850!!! $ )

I like the idea of a modular frame, especially if I would ever decide to do a true backpack hunt in the future but it’s hard to stomach double the price. Anyone have advice?

Find a way to try them on with weight, see what’s more comfortable/fits your body best. I had the last version of MR frame and no matter what I did, the weight just seemed to sit low and hang off my ass. Other packs (unfortunately the more expensive ones) fit me better and feel like the weight carries higher on my back.

I wish I could… live in MO. Not sure where I’d be able to look at them or try any on

I know Exo has a great return policy-they’re very realistic about this so if you order a pack you can add clean weight and get a feel for it, and if it’s not your jam just return it as long as it’s like new. I think kifaru is similar, as are the other top brands. Is there a sportsman’s warehouse near you? They carry MR, at least where I am. Not sure if they have a dealer/retailer locator on their website but may be worth looking.
