Need a DIY boot repair suggestion

Last year I had a boot drying “incident” around the campfire. I didn’t have any luck communicating with Schnee’s on an official repair. Anyone have any suggestions? All I could come up with was duct tape…

Ooof… that’s a tough area to fix. Only thing I can think of is find a boot repair person or cobbler near you and see what they suggest. Or just use the tape and see how it rubs on the skin.

Maybe tape to cover the area and prevent more tearing, then glue felt outside of that?

Needle and fine thread if you can sew. A curved needle would work best.

Tenacious Tape sticks far better than duct tape, I'd give that a try.

I’m a little OCD so I’m laying out the steps of what you are describing to make sure I’m following.

1. Spray the adhesive on the damaged area of the boot cuff
2. Lay the fabric on the affected area against the adhesive
3. Stitch the edges for added strength

Does that align?

Yes, I would tape off with painters tape the undamaged fabric so the glue wont affect that. Cut the matching fabric to size and heat seal the edges so it doesnt unravel. Assuming its a synthetic, natural fabrics dont heat seal.Follow the instructions on the spray can, usually you spray and wait for the glue to become tacky before applyingthe fabric. Some you spray the base, others both base and the new fabric. Let dry and the use a running locking stitch to reinforce the edges. Hair dryers often work to heat seal fabric edges.
