I am JUST getting back to work. Went to Big 10s in person. My in person "story" which will be no surprise...

AJ Ferrari has SERIOUS issues. Up front- HUGE Penn State fan, but I appreciate those kids who wrestle hard and can be better. I enjoy(ed) AJ like most. A train wreck you just can't NOT watch.

Live and in person, they kept all three mats up. Finals in center. 3rd and 5th matches on each end. I haven't watched the aired TV version yet. May have been at 184?? I was very close to the 5th place end mat. Think Allred medical'd out. And must have been reviews on Finals matches. Point being, Mat 3 was vacant. Lights off. NOBODY was loitering around the mat edge.

AJ has to come out of the back. Get up on Mat 3. Start stretching. The most odd/awkward, show all 13,000 of you how flexible and handsome I am. Was soooo cringy. Sure enough.....coach Manning has to come out from the back and BEG him to get down. Like 3 times..."AJ...come on down...let's go"

What a fuggin TOOL. I stood next to him and his old man (Of course AJ had to come up to the public in the BJC and walk around). He is way shorter in person. And his old man isn't nearly as jacked.
 
Take Aways.......Rocco has to get busy. So many kids (several PSU kids too) pissed around then want to get busy in TB 1 or TB 2? F that. You wasted 9 minutes pissing around.

FYI the crowd was BRUTAL to Angelo. If his knee touched the mat for a nanosecond... the entire place went Ape.

125- Luke is coming into a stride and gained more confidence. e looks solid.

133- I'll take Jax. He is just sooooo busy. Unless he gets caught and decked....Jax. I did see Lucas Byrd and Ms Giant there. She's BIG. He will be lucky to AA this year tho. Davino is a powerhouse. I take him over Marcus again.

141- Jesse. If records remain the same, I picked Jesse for Hodge. His bonus was only 88% on last stats while Mitch and Barr (Barr for sure) still have 100% today. Jesse's Quality of Competition, record and returning Champ gets the votes.

149- SVN- MAYBE. He looked like Ass. Won via Stall calls. Pin was only an opportunity that presented itself. He shaved the Beard. Lost his Super Power.

157- PJ went the other direction. Gave the returning Champ too much respect in the Dual. Shapiro takes an L when he sees real competitors and will accuse PJ of steroids if they meet. I've followed Jude Swisher a bit through HS. He's good. But was never a World Beater. Didn't Kasak beat Antrell TWICE last year? Dual and Big 10s? Pinned him once. And I think PJ stomps Kasak in the room. Cannon isn't the same.

165- Caliendo my favorite Hawk. I feel terrible for him. Seems like a good kid. But this is MM easily

174- Levi is my favorite dude. Per Instagram....he and Josh win titles on Sunday. FoxPro (in PA) takes them out coyote calling on Monday. Great kid. Watching him walk to Jr's "Dinosaur" was too cool. He's the reason I spent the time and $$$ to watch. Wanted to see him compete once before he's gone. The Penalty call was kinda BS. He got in on Minto's legs 3X? Cael will fix that this week. I think he has a few close matches but comes out the Champ. Pinto dangerous. Carson is shorter and stockier in person. His ass connects to the bottom of his shoulders and they then stuck a head on the top. Kennedy a Grinder too. Never seen Simon Ruiz. But still pick Levi. If Levi and Facundo meet....that will be a TB match. Levi all day on paper. But Alex handled him easily in Oly Trials 23.

184- For money I will take Sinclair here. McEnelly didn't look like the Monster he seems to be on the Screen. I don't think the refs in Cleveland will allow Ferarri to camp out on one knee either. When the crowd got on him. He came up. Knew a Stalling call could be Crowd Induced.

197- I feel Josh Barr is maybe the most Next Topic of any weight class. He's stomped Little already. Josh did not seem to have any late season injuries. No knees taped. No fingers taped. Looks amazing.

HWT- Geesh. Several coin flips. Prefer Younger to win. And my pick I guess.

Last AJ note....his International Wrestling flop was beyond pathetic. Such a mouthy showboat....until you get taken down. Complete F'ing Tool. Pathetic. Get me banned for saying it but....he will be a "Statistic" within 5 years. He's got mental issues. Not going to make it in Life.
 
It's kind of sad but wrestling fans have almost gone numb to Mesenbrink's dominance. His weight class isn't deep but that's because he drove guys out who would rather take their chances with Levi or Duke. I'll have to admit I sometimes treat his matches like an intermission. Anyone who could score a few takedowns on him before getting teched would probably get votes for Outstanding Wrestler.

One year of AJ in Stillwater put 10 years of aging and grumpy attitude on John Smith resulting in his retirement. Manning knew exactly what he was getting.
 
Where can I watch the National Tournament? It has been years since I have been able to watch it. But willing to get a month long subscription to watch the tournament.

I watched last week. I was kinda shocked the aired David getting schitty with Dee and Landon.

Cael comes off as nothing but good times and Dodgeball....

David kicked their dicks in....then de-escalated "criticism is part of getting better..."

I didn't mention Braeden Davis. The crowd I sat around loved that kid. He's the Penn State Ferarri.

My opinion- Cael absolutely HATES to put that kid out there. But it just made sense. He goes 0-2 at NCAAs and never wears a PSU singlet again. I would guess Desmond can handle him in the room. But wasn't worth burning his Shirt. Ono is Fake News and will never wrestle for PSU officially. Nagao finally called retirement. How do you think he feels being the "week link"?

Davis getting shit-housed and running from Cops then fighting. Electric Scooter burns. Going Full 'Tard after a Hardy Tummy Tap.....

He almost got DQ's in Consis against Illinois? for slapping and punching. He's not PSU material. He will finish at Michigan or Michigan State.....if he finishes.
 
Braeden and AJ might look into a 2 for 1 deal with a psychiatrist.

Davis really has some tantrum/self control issues. Every time I see it happen I think they will pull him from the lineup.

Women’s wrestling is not as in the dark as you make it out to be. Most states now have separate girls tournaments for conference and state and most have tourneys throughout the season.

I have two girls I coached currently wrestling in college. It has a growing fan base and is fun to watch. Waaaay better than watching mixed gender matches.

Nationals will be fun to watch. I like PSU but I like competition better. I’d rather see some significant restrictions on the transfer game.

I can't stand watching davis wrestle. Doesn't help that he's a moron off the mat too
 
Off Topic but Helen is one of my favorite PEOPLE to watch wrestle. Not just for her looks. She wrestles like a Boy. And a good one.

I never knew I had a Big Girl kink until Adeline.....but in the later half of her career she was a bore to watch. You could see the matches getting away from her. And it seemed she knew it and did nothing to stop it.

Girl's wrestling is reported to be the fastest growing sport in USA. There is ZERO place for Boy/Girl wrestling. I am glad they got seperated.

I get lots of people wanting to be Wrestling Fans with girls/grand daughters wrestling. Good on them.

Like in shooting disciplines...often times the women are much more coachable. Maybe similar for wrestling?

I generally do Intermission for the female matches. But I will stay if they wrestle like Kennedy or Helen.

My youth league still has some boy/girl matches. One u12 bout this year featured a guy with a mustache vs a girl wearing a sports bra. Not my cup of tea at all. And my wife HATES it when my son's match up with a girl. The only acceptable outcome in her mind is a sub 20 second pin.
