NPS proposes relocation, hiring professional hunters and installing fencing but no thought to allowing hunting to reduce up to 520 buffalo, based on their estimates of the herd size. AZ Game and Fish is encouraging public comment on the NPS proposals. In the national VS state control arena, I personally would want the AZ Game and Fish Department managing these animals rather than the NPS.

Back in 2005, NPS hired a New Zealand based hunting company for 5 Million dollars to eradicate wild pigs from Santa Cruz Island, near Santa Barbara, rather than allow hunters to pay for the opportunity. It seems to me that it would be better to make money from this than to pay money for it. Just me.

I fully support state management of game. Most states do a very good job at it, and have for a long time.

Managing millions of acres of public land? No thanks.

Good luck on working this out in AZ. It has been a constant battle for decades in MT. We do get some bison hunting though!
