Old news but still in court lol. I missed it back in May. Sounds like some old school S**t me and my buddies would do back in the day. Except I never had access to a Blackhawk Helicopter. Haha.

Had some guys out of Cheyenne that used to like to fly over the ranch we work for and chase the elk herds. Messed up a hunt for the spouse and a friend one year.
Talked with the GW and he said he would not talk with the Wy guard folks.
Someone must have because they stopped flying low over private ground eventually.
I'm all for training but not to chase animals because it is fun.

seems like a video of that sent out to the news and around facebook an whatnot would go alot farther than trying to get one type of government to go after another type.

My dad was career military. He was at one point a battalion commander. As a 12 year old I got to drive one of those Vietnam era personnel carriers, shoot a machine gun, play with training grenades and phosphorous flares, and pretty much most of my young life had the run of restricted installlations. It was a different time for sure.

My son tells a story about a scout squad in a Blackhawk off the coast of some South American country in the late 90’s (can’t remember exact date or country): . They were flying along and saw a huge fish in shallow water ( also can’t remember what kind of fish). The door gunner lit up the fish and the pilot circled back and dropped part of the squad in the water, where they wrestled it aboard. Everyone at base had fresh fish that night. Do they even have game wardens down there? And if you were a game warden would you accost a group of badass warriors?
Boys will be boys, especially heavily armed boys.

Personally I think the taking of the antlers was poor judgement, but they most likely could be recovered with a phone call to the base commander. If it was my land I would demand my antlers back, demand a personal apology from the soldiers involved and let it go. Evrybodys all “Thank you for your service” and then pressing changes?

I did plenty of stupid things when I was 18 and I am sure into my early twenties. Nothing that would have landed me in prison (at least for a long period of time lol). I learned from my mistakes and I am thankful for some second chances.
