So I'm looking to upgrade my Binoculars. I currently have Vortex Diamondback HD's and want something a little better. I am a Vortex fan, but open to other options as well. Looking for clarity and reliability mainly. I have Vortex products, Burris products, and have had Riton 3's in the past (all scopes). I wasn't impressed at all with the Riton optics and would say the glass is sub par for the price point. Not sure if the 5 series is better or not.

Which would you guys go with if you could have 2 choices?

Picked GPO since I have the 8x32 and am impressed. No experience with any other choices
I tried to order one of their rifle scopes a year or two ago, but after I placed the order, it got cancelled because they could not fill it. I even called and talked to the president of the company (he answered the phone... uncommon to say the last). He was super helpful and that's why I placed the order. But doesn't help when you never get it...

You are the second person I have talked with that used them, the other said the same about the passion line. Nothing super fancy, but good for what you pay for.

Any reason you are sticking to 10x? You would be surprised what a good 8x can do for you. Some need the 10s I get it, I've found just how great my 8s are this year.

Zeiss conquests (discontinued but man what a punch/older swaro slc,(get the hd, can be had used and cheaper since all fanboys "have to have" the pures now/maven/meopta (don't sleep on these)/Steiner marines - those predators are nice too, I like Steiners, I have a pair of 10x50 marine, heavy, but you can't destroy them, love them duck hunting with bad weather. (Now one thing with Steiner, they aren't for letting your buddy look through them, unless you have the same eye calibration, you set those things for your eyes, but man that system works for what it was intended) I don't deer hunt with them much anymore, too heavy, I like my 8x slc a lot more, one handed operation in a tree stand, yeah, even works over a soy bean field too!

I'm not stuck on 10x, but just seems to be much more common. I worry about not having enough zoom, but sure don't want to go up to a 12x.

My current chest rig is set up for 10x42 size binoculars, so that's why I was looking to keep them the same. I don't want to change that, or have my bino's rattle due to being too small.

They shouldn't rattle, 8x vs 10x, you could put a lens cloth there if it does.

I will say, I was worried of the same thing, I always had 10x - 10x42, 10x50, the only thing I can say is go somewhere and compare a pair of 10x vs 8x, you might be more surprised than you think, especially if you are upgrading glass too. I wouldn't trade the field of view of 8x and the weight for 10's anymore. Oh my goodness the weight, I can actually use these 8x with one hand and keep them stable for viewing.

I'm not going to get into which ones to buy, I am an 8x fanboy now. I use them in the woods in a stand and open fields of Soy Beans. I will say four months ago, you might have been hard pressed to convince me.

Also just to throw out an option Sierra has Razor HD for 630 and UHD for 900

I kind of hate you right now, might have just cost me $2000:ROFLMAO:
