Name Brand Sun Hoodies Vs Amazon special

One aspect that makes the BD superior to any other sun hoody is that the hood is multi paneled and designed to "hook" under the bill of your hat and stay put. The Kuiu hood, for example, won't stay put when you're facing into a slight breeze. With the hood hanging over the edge of your hat, you create a pocket of shade for your face that is more protective than any other hood I've tried and I own at least 6 or 7 different brands of sun hoodies.

You can get columbia PFG long sleeve sun shirts and hoodies for $15-$20 quite often from Midway USA. Midway also has some sun shirts under their own brand, bought two camo ones for $18 each.
Do the midway brand ones have thumb holes?

Any good cotton or wool recommendations out there for us hippies who don’t wear synthetics?

The lightest weight FL merino hoody works pretty well. I also have a bamboo sun hoody that works fine -holds sweat more than other options, but not terribly.

Im happy with both my Huk and Columbia sun shirts. I use them all the time fishing and on the boat. You can find both on sale pretty frequently for a good price. When its time for a new one I may try the Ketl Nofry mentioned above. I like the design of it.

I have a number of hooded sunshirts.

I bought the amazon specials for myself and my kids. They were significantly thicker and less breathable than others. Fine for the kids, but I don't wear them. Too hot.

My current favorites are from Ketle Mtn and Rab:

This is what I was worried about with the cheap ones.
