I am currently running 168 LRX w/ RL26 in 7PRC and 175 LRX w/ RL23 in 300WM. Given the whole Alliant powder dearth, I am looking at "swapping" to VV. I am curious if one of the aforementioned powder would work for both loads, vice having diff powders for the diff projectiles. I am running a 22" barrel on the 300 and a 20" on the 7. I may just grab a pound of each and try, but thought I'd see if anyone had specific experience with those powder/bullet combos.

Thanks.

This summer, I put together a load using N565, 175 LRXs, Fed 215M primers, Peterson 300wm Long bass, in my 24" Tikka. I was pleased with the accuracy/precision, but velocity was a little sad. At 75.2 grs (max load), my rifle was about 2780 fps. I don't have any pictures of my grouping at 100yds, so I'll try remember to find those tonight. My SD's were below 10 fps. If I recall, my rifle was shooting about 0.75 to 1 MOA.

I tried N570 in 2 WMs and 1 300 Ultra and while it was the fastest in all of them it was only marginally faster, like 30fps faster, compared to H1000 in 1 of the WMs and Retumbo in the ultra mag and other WM. Both Hodgon powders were more accurate so I went with those

I’m using N560 for Berger 168’s and 175’s for 7PRC and have had great results. I’m not running it super hot, but I have run some loads up to the 2980 range and still had great accuracy.

This is a 10 shot group
