Has anyone used this pack for hunting how did perform with a load? The colors isnt great but it is on sale at different places for $337 for a mystery ranch 5000 CI pack with a load shelf seems like a good deal.

The difference between the hiking packs and the hunting packs is the rated load capacity. The hunting packs are over 150lb and if I remember right the hiking packs are around 60lb. I am just trying to go off memory with the weights. I called Mystery Ranch and asked them so feel free to give them a call also.

I’m not sure that is true for the Terraframe models. I read somewhere that MR confirmed they were rated for 125 or 150#’s. It makes sense that anything with a load shelf would be this sturdy.

I remember reading about one guy with the Terraframe 80 using them to haul two RV batteries into the woods for some type of research project. It was way over 100#.

When I bought my MR Glacier’s last year I was told by Mystery Ranch that the expedition packs were rated to 90 lbs and the Terraframe packs were rated to 150lbs. I have trained with 75 lbs in my pack and it carried so easily I am confident I could carry at least 100 in the Glacier.
