I’m wanting to get my buddy into one. I was thinking the sawtooth 45. Wanting the light weight frame they have. Is this his best option? Budget around $300 for a mystery ranch. He’s a bigger guy. Size 36-38 waist so large option. Going to do mostly day hunts with possibly a night or two mixed in. I’m a Kifaru guy but I know mystery ranch are some of the best for the price.

I’m 5-8 175 and run the MULE like that... Just ordered the Pop-Up 28 for my son at an inch or two taller than me. Day hunt with hard hikes and enough packed layers and essentials that if we needed to we could stay the night on the mountain. If we were planning more than an unexpected night out we’d have to use the Overload for a tent and bag which would work really good but if we were packing meat out the first trip would be kinda over stacked, but I think still fine.

All that to say that if he is a bigger guy the math might be about the same for him with the Sawtooth?Extra capacity to accommodate the bulk difference in sizing...
