Is there a place besides eBay to buy the frame only? I currently have my frame with a bear tooth and sawtooth bags. I want to find a size small frame for my son and give him the sawtooth bag.

Just keep checking the Classifieds here on Rokslide. Also if you have Facebook there is a group for Mystery Ranch Pack Sales. That may not be the correct name but you can search it. I have seen just frames only on there several times.

Thanks. I don’t do Facebook but I will keep an eye on the classifieds here.

It seams odd to me that mystery ranch does not have a frame only option. I purchased a used frame from the classifieds on here.

Also, maybe this is obvious, but be sure of the different models of frames as they have different connections to bags and may require a buckle kit to make them compatible.

I was wondering the same. . . And do as someone else said, the older style bags all fit the new guide light frame?

Guide lite and guide lite mt frames have different buckles and one would require a buckle kit to fit the same bag. No experience with the older "nice" frame.

Not only do they not offer the frames separately - they only offer three (3) of their bags without a frame. Used to be only two (2) bags ( Mule and Pintler) a few years ago that you could purchase without a frame. The majority of guys may never get multiple bags for their frames, but it was one reason why I moved away from MR. I wanted a pack mfg that would allow me to buy any bag they came out with separately. MR has missed the boat on this one IMO.

The no frame only thing and the lack of pack only options is dumb. I am an MR fan boy and it pisses me off too.

The cheapest way to get a frame is to find one lightly used. Apart from that they offer packs called Terraframes. Same frame but in their hiking line. They list for $400-500 but you can find them on sale for $300 or less.
