I thought I would share an experience I had today with Mystery Ranch. I had originally ordered the Big Sky with removable stick-it. I wanted a pack that could be something like an EDC pack plus pull double duty as a daypack for hunting. When it got delivered yesterday I started playing around and putting the stick-it on. Two of the snaps on the stick-it broke immediately, which was a little disappointing. So I started loading the bag up and walking around. I threw a 50 lbs bag of salt in it. The weight felt ok but I could tell I was pushing the limit of the pack. As i was messing around, I
it kind of dawned on me that I didn't really need another daypack and I really wanted a load hauler. The Big Sky is a nice bag and I would have kept it if I could afford it plus a load hauler.

I called MR this morning to discuss the issues. The gentleman I talked to was very helpful and apologized for the stick-it. Then we talked about to pack and decided that the G2 Metcalf would meet my needs. So I ordered the kit and MR offered to pick up the shipping for both the Metcalf and the return of the Big Sky (both of which i was not expecting) considering the stick-it issue. Good customer service goes a long way with me and I was pleasantly surprised because they had no reason go above and beyond since this was my first MR purchase.

I also inquired about the new frame and they said the hunting specific NICE frame was in development and being prototyped but still more than a year out.

Ouch. I was just about to order a stick-it. Was it a problem with the snap or the installation of the snap on the stick-it?

It could have been both. All I did was connect the snaps and the two sides just fell apart. The two that failed were the inner two. The outer two functioned normally so it may have just been a fluke.
