My older MR packs are second to none for quality, design, fit and finish etc. I’d hate to know how many miles they’ve been carried and the amount of weight they have packed. Some funny opinions here for sure
I'm not gonna hate on any entrepreneurs who found a way to get an exit in this market. Yeti is a $3B mkt cap publicly traded company; MR founders get to monetize all their years of investment and sweat, plus equity upside for themselves and their employees. Assuming there's an earnout, they're going to have to perform for at least a few years no matter what. Better this than selling to a PE firm...
Have to echo the quality comment - if there’s one thing MR does it’s good finish work, everything is dialed. Now they do that at the expense of weight sometimes, and get entirely too cute with features. And sometimes they miss the mark on what’s needed. But the craftsmanship is not lacking.
