Mystery Ranch 6500 owners

Hey guys, just got my 6500 in the mail today. Just wondering about something, the aluminum stays that extend upwards kind of angle backwards away from the body. Are they meant to be adjustable or bent forward or straight for preference? I didnt load it up with anything heavy yet, just stuffed all the couch cushions i could find just to see the size of this beast. thanks guys

I would call mystery ranch. I never had to bend mine at all and it carried weight well.

They're not meant to be molded but certainly can be. That bend is there for head clearance (especially with a helmet) and the length of the female load lifter buckle webbing is such to accommodate that bend.
