To give you some context I have hunted my entire life but I am new to reloading(Dec. 25) and I haven't ever built a rifle. Because of all you Roksliders, I decided to try and assemble a rifle and develop a load for it (third time to develop a load). I am pleasantly surprised how well it is going with this process. It was pretty simple to do once I figured out how to get the barrel off the donor which wasn't that bad but it did take a cheater bar! Here are details of the build.....

25 Creedmoor
Tikka T3x Short Action w Tikka trigger
Proof Research Carbon Barrel 22"
XLR Chassis 4.0 mg

Load Data
Alpha Brass (SRP)
CCI 450
Berger LR Hybrid 135 gr
H4350
20 thou off the lands

My first couple shots with it were at 100 yards to get on paper. Then I attempted to begin a ladder test at 400 yards but there was too much mirage to do it effectively. Moved back to 100 yards and decided to finish the ladder rounds to look for pressure in .3 grain increments. Pressure began to show at 41.5gr and really ramped up at 41.8gr(really heavy bolt lift and extractor marks). See attached pic for the 7 rounds at 100 yards. Going to move back to 41 grains and do some more exploring today. Speed was 2,742fps with 41 grains.
