1080 steel. Od green burlap and black micarta pins.
Cheap harbor freight 1x30, drill press and band saw then your basic hand tools.
Happy with how it turned out but it's far from perfect. Took some effort to sharpen so I think the heat treat is ok....or maybe it's too hard....I really don't know. Learning as I go. Will do somethings differently on the next one.

Very nice. I love the blade shape. What is the handle material? I see the burlap but is there a binder?

Just 3/16" burlap epoxied on with the micarta pins. The scales themselves are layers of burlap with epoxy holding it all together.

Nice work! I recommend the House Made Revolution 2x72 Grinder if you have the tools to put it together.

Really good on your first knife. Keep up the good work. If you decide to make more, the 2x72 really will put a smile on your face. Worth the investment.

For sure wanting a new grinder. Not sure I want to invest it a 2x72 yet. It would be awesome though. Takes some time to get things hogged away with my little 1x30. Some better belts might help. Still experimenting and learning a lot every time I grind a knife.

Couple I did this past Saturday. Waiting for warmer weather to heat treat...
