My first elk hunt, in progress.

So I actually got into range just as he crested a hill. I figured I better move down anyways. Just in case right. Well for some reason he backtracked and came back. I hit him quartering away at about 225 yds. He piled up about 30 yards downhill.

He was a 3x3 but all broken up. Pack out wasn't too bad which was nice.

Great ! Be proud ! It’s a bull elk off public land and he’ll eat great. We all have dreams of 400”’+ bull but having tromped over a ton of public land I know just how hard it’s to find a legal bull on public land much less a toad bull.

Good show man; thanks for the inspiration. I’m hoping to knock my first bull over in the next several years so this is great fuel I’d be darned proud!!
