Hey guys I thought that I would share a few pictures of my first archery elk. I have gotten close in the past but it never quite came together until this past Saturday. I called this little six point in to 50 yards. He never made any noise when coming in, he was just all of a sudden was standing there. Shot was a little high and back because he took a step just as I released but it did the job and he only made it 100 yards or so before pilling up. Definitely not the biggest bull in there but he will sure eat well. I had to cut fat out of the way just to get to where I could see the back straps. The last picture below is of the 2" fat cap that was on the hind quarters. I'm looking forward to some good steaks in my future. Now back up the hill to continue the search for a nice buck!
