My dog pisses on his leg

Looking for advise. Not sure if this can be stopped or corrected.
He's a near 6 month old GSP.
Intact.
Squats.
Doesn't lift his leg yet.
Doesn't hit his leg every time but daily at least once sometimes more. Sometimes barley hits a leg on rare occasion it's a solid hit. I'm getting tired of cleaning his legs. The stream is straight and hits right between his front legs but if his body is angled there is some level of leg contact. I've attempted to adjust his body position while voiding however he's NOT down with me messing with him when doing his duty.

I've been frustrated with this same problem with my pup. Everyone told me he'd out grow it also I sure hope so.

lucky for you it sounds like a development issue that will be outgrown. I have a ten-year-old Heeler & every now and again he will lift his leg to pee only to be peed on by his eleven-year-old chocolate lab brother...... the only things worse than cleaning your dog's pee off his own leg is having to clean another dog's pee off because he's too stupid to realize his brother is not a fire hydrant....

I don’t know if he will outgrow it. My 11 year old GSP still pisses on his paw while lifting his leg. I think it has to do with the angle of the dangle.

We have a 2 year old Deutsch Drahthaar and it seemed like it took him about a year to outgrow pissing on his front legs. Now he lifts his leg and pisses on everything that is even slightly elevated from the ground.

Get him around some other male dogs so he can see how a big boy pees. Sometimes they learn to lift this way.
