My attempt at hunting the Selway for spring bear failed because it’s still inaccessible from the north on account of the snowpack as of 12 may.
Also to everyone who wants to hunt that area and the surrounding units. It is steep and heavily timbered. there are so few glass-able slopes it’s not even funny. You Kindof have to sit there and wait until you see one scurry across through tiny patches of open space. Even so there are plenty of bears. I saw one with my ass parked on a 50 degree slope at about 300 yards.
I missed him at that distance and my buddies shot him after I was on the way back home.

I would also bet top dollar that there is a population of grizzlies in that area. Or there are some legendary black bear there
