My 300 WSM AKA (THE PUG)

I wanted to build a short-barreled suppressed 300 WSM for a while. This will be a work in progress. I will be trying a few different suppressors, brass, and powders. The bullet I want to use is the Berger 200x20. I named the project the pug because is short and ugly. HAHA.

Loaded me up some Berger 200x20 with IMR 7828ssc and VV570. The 570 didn't hit 2600 fps with the max load. The 7828ssc went 2848 with mild pressure signs. I need more rounds and some ten-shot groups to confirm but I think we are off to a good start.

I don't like RL 26. It had very weird temp spikes for me. I will be trying some VV-568 and ADG brass when it comes out.

This three-shot group was 68 grains of 7828ssc, all three shots were 2848. I guess @Unknown Munitions knows how to load bullets

Im also running the 200.20x from a carbon 6 barrel and it hammers!
winn brass 58.7gr H4350 they are running right at 2800fps

Ryan was this gun chambered by Whaley or C6? anything specific ?

Be interested in seeing what you get with some faster burning powders. Those fast powders and some lighter weight higher BC copper bullets would be a fast setup.

Nice setup I love having a supressed shorty for timber to 600 yard shots.
When you burn it out get serious and go 16", run a 9" suppressor and smile in amazement at the nail gun pop

How do you like the nx8? I have a 300wsm being built by hells canyon, and I've had my eye on that scope.

RL23 is worth a shot. 2935 with 208 ELD in my 24" Tikka without pushing pressure signs.
