Muzzleloader recommendation needed

The OP ended up buying a TC Triumph, which I think will work great for him. Hopefully he’ll update us here on how he likes it.

knights are my go to.i have many others but none have the accuracy ogn my knight 45 disc elite.mine will shoot bh209 and t7 and it actually loves swiss 2f

Sounds like a good choice, i have a few older TC muzzleloaders that have been pretty solid over the years

Where is everyone buying their powder? Local gun stores? No big box stores have it in stock and my old reliable place the guy retired. So I tried calling a few gun stores and they don't carry ML bullets nor powder.

I am shooting Thor, and have that covered already. But i'd like to test 777 powder vs white hots pellets vs the old 777 pellets I already have. But shelling out the $24 hazmat shipping fee seems dumb to buy it online when surely someone has powder locally.

I can find pyrodex and 777 pellets easy, just not white hots nor 777 powder

Sportsman's Warehouse and Bass Pro in my area tend to have 777 powder and the white hots most of the year. The Walmarts in my area will have both of them in the fall.

So crazy. Some absolutely hate CVA, and others swear by them as a cheap and effective ML. I use an Optima V2 bought from WalMart a decade ago almost. It shoots great. I have zero complaints. The limiting factor is me not that gun. Williams Western Peep sight and I'm within 1-2 inch groups. But I do know a guy that can't get his wolf to shoot straight ever. But that could also be the bullets. He bought cheap junk power belts and doesn't store his pellets to stave off moisture. I started with Barnes and now shoot Thor Hammers. And I try to replicate everything to include how hard I seat the bullet on each shot. But if mine shot like my buddy's, I'd hate it to.

Also, thanks for letting me jump in with a question. Wasn't trying to hijack. Found the Scheels an hour away has the powder I seek. BP, Academy, Cabela's and the Wals Mart didn't have squat besides some pyrodex and 777 pellets. Maybe Fall is the time. But I guess I'll road trip to Scheels.

The reason more suggest other Brand Muzzleloaders is because they do a lot more Muzzleloading Hunting than most! So they want the best most reliable Rifle they can get. And why some are not liking CVA / Traditions over others including Woodman Arms, Thompson Center ( even discontinued 1's like the Omega) and Knight though Knight has less than good Customer Service these days as compared to what they once had. Getting Parts is not as easy and is their pricing. And If you are looking "example" for a Stock for any "DISC" Rifle - Knight won't sell 1 to a past customer yet they still offer the Extreme & the Mountaineer that some say will fit a DISC Rifles. So for the better rifle for some they go with a known Rifle as some have several muzzleloaders for different types of Game Hunting. So find what works in ypur budget and hope it gives you good service for your hunting needs.

For me, personally, it's not that CVA doesn't make a serviceable rifle. There's a couple of other Wolf's in the house and they shoot fine for what is needed.

My issue with CVA is their "warranty and service". That aforementioned Wolf V2 was sent back as a new rifle with less than 25 rounds through it because it wouldn't load ANY readily available sabot/bullet combination. I BROKE two ram rods trying to load that thing. It was super tight at the muzzle, about 1/2 way down it was so loose a Powerbelt would drop the rest of the way just by tapping the butt on the ground. The barrel was obviously out of spec. I sent a bunch of various sabots and bullets so they could test themselves.... I get the rifle back with a report that said "able to load a powerbelt" as the QC check. WTF. AND they threw away all the bullets I sent! When I fussed on some of the blackpower/muzzleloader forums, the CVA sales director reached out and sent me 6 packs of Powerbelt ELR's for the rifle.... that still shot like shit. Yeah, they sent me $200 of shit bullets for a $200 muzzleloader that they wouldn't put a new barrel on. So, it got cut up and put in the trash because I couldn't push that piece of shit barrel off on anybody else.
