Hi Tim, I apologize for the delay, just seeing your message today! Ended up not buying one, which now I kind of regret, the price increased by like 1000 now that I checked them again. Guessing I won't be buying one at all. Was hoping, as limited as ML are in Idaho, that more hunts would be available for ML only, but those are very few. The ML seemed like a fun pursuit in itself, getting one and figuring it out, and learning how to shoot it well. I am a hunter too, and with how few options I saw, decided to focus on other weapons. I already archery hunt for elk and deer, so that's challenging enough.Hey there, I am in the same position the original poster was. I am looking to purchase a Knight Ultra-lite. 50 cal for muzzleloader season elk hunting in Idaho, and also want to also get it set up for general weapon season with improvements like a scope, pelletized powder, primers, etc.
I have read everything above in detail and plan on following all recommendations above from @sabotloader to a T.
I am currently planning on purchasing the Ultra-lite olive green stock with nitride finish.
Questions for sabotloader - have any of your recommendations changed since your replies above?
Is the nitride finish still the best?
When I order the muzzloader from Knight, am I correct in understanding that I will need the Full Plastic Jacket option without sights, drilled and tapped for a scope?
In your setup above, are all open sights purchased from other businesses aside from Knight?
Thanks!
Tim
PS - @tito_zako how did your muzzleloader turn out?
Did you get one yourself?
If so, did you go on any hunts with it?
