70 gr by weight of bh 209 and a 250 gr thor is giving me 1820 fps, based on drop at 300 yards. It's about 30 fps off from what my chrono showed

Wow I guess I’m not the only one struggling with this!

We don't have the data from everything everyone else has done. If it was just a little cheaper and easier to get stuff, then it would be fun.

Awesome! I’ll start my loads around 75gr and work up to max and see how it goes. I have 250, 275 and 300gr Parkers I’ll be testing.

With primitive sights I can't convince myself a 45 cal is worth it over a 50 cal.

Federal Bore locks are a lead free option, I use them in my CVA MR with an accuracy of about 2MOA. Hopefully going to mess with powder and get that more accurate.

What is your Avg velocity and ES with that load? What are you getting for velocity with the BH209?

Average velocity is 1986 w/ 29fps ES.

The velocities are higher with the 209, but not as accurate or as consistent. The same 80gr (by weight) results:

Avg Velocity 2013fps
ES=56fps
SD=24fps

So, not terrible but not worth it imo. At least. That's what I've got so far.

I'm still testing though, and might velocity found a little better results with 85gr but I mixed up the way I was loading (back to a heavier ramrod)
