I’ve been looking at ways to simplify my kit and was thinking about using trekking poles as shooting sticks. I've seen the QuickStix from wiser precision, but wondering if they are as good as shown. Anyone running a dual-purpose setup like that? Curious how stable it is compared to dedicated sticks and if there are any tricks to make it more usable in the field.

I don’t use the quick sticks as my primary bipod but I do use them regularly for things like coyote and antelope hunting. I use quick clip head for these hunts.

I keep the adapter attached to my trekking poles and found they work good for storage and keeping my poles together. Also during archery I use them as a rest for my binos as I don’t carry a tripod during archery season.

In a pinch the poles work good for seated shots without the quick clip attached.

I don’t think it would ruin a hunt not having them but it’s kinda nice having an option. I wouldn’t say they are any more stable than other shooting sticks though.

I also at times clip my poles together and use them as a single pole if I need at least one hand free.

Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated. I think I will try out out the quick stix system :)
