Multiple Tikka Owners: Which Caliber has been most and least accurate for you?

My 243 will print consistent, no shit, touching 5 round groups, pretty much every time. Does it with multiple factory flavors.

2 others Iv shot were moa rifles. Including my 223

What factory .243 ammo you use?

My 243 is definitely my most accurate, but my 223 and 204 are very close. My 22-250 is accurate, but not as consistent.

When the rifle was a 243, I used factory precision hunter 90g eldx. I think my wife and I shot 5 deer with that bullet and it did a good job

My 308 t3 lite shoots simple Federal blue box 150's just about in the same hole at 100 yards. 5 shot group at 100.

Also have a 7mm rem mag T3 lite but havent shot it that much to make determination.

I would say .243 Winchester has been my most accurate Tikka caliber. I've loaded for a lot of Tikka 7mm Remington Mags and every one has been good for me. Never had one that wouldn't at least shoot under a minute.

I've owned four Tikkas now. .243, 7mm-08, .308 and .270. The .243 was a one ragged hole rifle.

Of the 13 or so I've owned,the best were a 270 Win I currently have and a 7 Rem mag I don't. Don't ask. I do stupid chit with regularity. The least accurate was a 338 Win mag. Second place goes to a 30/06. Bear in mind, the bad ones were MOA. The best will easily do 1/4 MOA. Shooting in the twos with regularity out of the box for less than a grand is my kind of rifle.

300 WSM
338 Win mag.
Some doubles and a triple in there.

i have only owned 3, a .243, 7-08, .270win.... the 270 was the best out of the bunch for me too, it loved the sst's and shot them better than i could shoot... the .243 was the least accurate, but still an excellent shooting rifle.... i was never bummed out about it's accuracy, but the .270 and 7-08 were just lights out with almost any ammo.

i also had a sako a7 roughtec pro, which is more tikka than sako, in 7rem mag, and it was a tack driver as well... just recently let that go

1-10 twist .223 is most accurate. 1-8 twist .22-250 is accurate but not as accurate as the .223.

I’ve owned 8 Tikkas. Still have 7 of them. They’ve all been really accurate. The 7mag is super accurate too but I’ve realized how much work I’d need to be proficient with the heavier hitters. The 22lr, 223, 6.5CM (2), and 308 (2) have all shot fantastic and have never shown any issues. It would be hard to pick the most accurate of those I just listed. With good ammo they’re about the same.

The 30.06 I am still trying to decide on the 168 Vor-TX or the 165 grain Nosler Accubonds. Both shoot extremely well in the gun.

I’ve only got one Tikka but several barrels. I shoot the 6.5 CM the best, but the 30-06 is plenty accurate as well. I had good luck with 168 TTSX and RL17.

Going to give the blue box a try on your recommendation. My Tikka .308 seems to like the 150 Hornady Whitetails.

I have three tikkas.

6.5 creed, 30-06, 22lr.

All of them are very accurate with the loads I’ve made for them but the 22 is ridiculous.

Just found this thread.......FWIW

I've owned a lot of rifles...too many. All good. Being older now, my battery has been greatly reduced and I did that so very carefully. Over and over again, Tikka rifles have served me well. Only 3 rifles remain in the safe - all Tikka's.

In order of accuracy all day long...each rifle shooting exactly as it came out of the box - zero modifications:

1. T3x Laminate SS - 30-06 - a 1 hole rifle
2. T3x basic black stock, no frills- .243 Win - easily sub .5 MOA
3. T3x Laminate SS - .270 Win - .75 MOA

A joy to use, I have a great appreciation of these rifles and their true value - both $ spent and effectiveness / dependability in the field.

I've shot these factory barrels:
223 ultralight
22/250 lite
243 lite
308 lite

I have an Ace Barrel:
6.5 PRC straight fluted tikka sporter so basically “ultralight”

The 308 lite shoots the best and has the most recoil.
