That tumor is crazy. Did you cut it open?

I cut a little piece off the side and it looked the same as it did on the outside. It was surprisingly light. Showed pic to a couple turkey biologists and neither had saw anything like it before. Bird was acting like nothing was wrong.

That's about as rare as it gets outside of a color-phased gobbler! Congrats. I've never even saw that in person.

With Turkey Season right around the corner has anyone shot a multi-bearded tom? If not what is the most unusual Turkey you have seen or killed?
Curious to see everyone's pics.

I was hunting a few years ago with my buddy and his 14-15yo son. I was trying to use my bow and he his son had a shotgun. We got set up and got a bird answering. Bird came into about 30 yards. Me being a nice guy told his son to take the shot even though it was in my lane. He smoked it. Got up there, probably a 3-4 year old bird with 1” plus spurs and 4 beards!!!

No multiple beard birds. Shot this one last spring with one spur, and what I'd guess is an injury to his foot.

Very cool pictures and stories. I killed a double bearded tom on the San Carlos Apache reservation one spring. All the other Merriams and one Goulds bird I have killed had 1 beard.

I’ve killed three jakes with double beards and one Tom with a triple beard. 10”, 4” and 2” beards.
Bad part was that I shot 95% of his main beard off.
I had him at 25 yards for 5 minutes and never could get him to break strut for a shot. I finally shot him while strutting and of course ruined his beard. It had a few strands that were 10”, but the rest was around 4”. The coolest part was that I called him away from 2 hens, off of a field, into the woods for the shot.
That isn’t supposed to happen!

Killed this 3 bearder a few years back. He was tough to coax in too but I got him!
