I've been wanting one for years but can't justify the cost. Meanwhile when I'm out I always am like gee I could use one of those for this.

Just doing elk in Montana. But it'd sure be nice to have a tool for clearing out a camp spot. Or even some steep climbing.

Anyone non extreme sheep guys gotten one? Have you found it to be useful?

Also what about using trekking poles? I'm kind of committed to using my poles for pitching my glassing tarp and using as a bipod with the wiser system.

How's shooting off of the stick?

This is one of those items that looks intriguing but I'll never try as the price is just a bit ridiculous for a take a chance item for me.

It's not certified as an ice axe I'd guess because the pick is pinned on/ the head assembly as a whole, and its fully carbon. its also round , and I would bet using it as an axe would get fatiguing because of that, it's also not light by any stretch.

I use one pole almost exclusively, whether that be a Leki Legend 99% of the time or a Stubai tour lite tele when needed, which is pretty rare hunting. I used to ice climb when I was younger, and wouldn't take any of these for that, but general mountain stuff I do now the stub has been fine.

I don't quite understand why they put a pic rail attachment literally right where your palm is going to sit, and where 99% of the pressure point will be. seems an addition that really wouldn't benefit most. I would probably fill and wrap with vet tape on that tbh, but now adding to the weight even more.

Stone Glacier has a Stubai like item coming out next year I'm told that looks really good, I'll probably pick that up as the Stubai is becoming harder to get.

I've looked at it, too and can't really justify it's use though I have been in a few situations when hunting where that or an ice axe would have been useful.

I do have a Camp Corsa ice axe that I occasionally carry for backcountry skiing. Its a lighter duty ice axe than a fully mountaineering option. I think it weighs 8 oz. It would realistically be more practical to carry for sketchy terrain and/or light excavation work, though its not designed to shoot off of and the shaft would be loud on rock for hunting purposes.
