the rainshadow calls website, Steve has posted a ton of stories on his site of the encounters of many, and has them categorized..... there is a TON of knowledge in those stories, it's the best literature i have seen on lions..... a lot about their behavior, where they roam, what they're doing, etc.... it's not straightforward to the point literature, but i think it's better depending on your use of the information.
if you don't find what you're looking for, reach out to him, and he'll be able to lead you in the right direction.... he is a great lion resource.
My uncle was terrified by cougars, as was I, so we both read "Cougar Canyon" by J.R. Stoddard when I was about 12, thinking it would help us get over our fear. I am now terrified of them. And since then I have been chased/stalked by two. Nothing informational about cougars in this book, just a terrifying fictional book about cougar attacks.
