MRC Junction Purchase

I purchased a MRC Junction 6.5CM recently after reading the testing thread leading up to the Marshall’s creation. I set it up with an SWFA 3-15 Gen2 and Nightforce Ultralight rings. I have a few initial observations/thoughts to share for anyone that is interested.

1) I experienced stiff lockups upon chambering rounds early on, but it is improving. The bolt is smoothing out with repeated cycling as described in the original test post.

2) I found a metal shaving/sliver in the threading on the front action screw hole, just like in the test thread. After cleaning/degreasing, I was able to screw in the front and rear action screws without issue. The issue with the action screw thread length was addressed on this rifle prior to my purchase.

3) The bolt handle/arm does make contact with the wood, just as it did in the testing thread. I haven’t fixed this yet, I may look for a synthetic stock or call MRC to inquire on the purchase of the synthetic stock from the Highline model.

4) I don’t mind the trigger, but I am curious as the spring change that Form did on his.

5) I do want to change the bolt knob. It is a bit too small and I prefer a ball shape. This is just a preference.

I bought the Junction model because I wanted to be able to upgrade as time went on. I have mainly shot M70s, so this model was interesting. I am not disappointed in the issues mentioned above because I read the testing thread and knew what to expect.

At this point, I am still happy I bought it and am looking forward to making it mine over time.
