MR Guide Lite MT yoke adjustment question

I just got my MR Pintler. I started to adjust the yoke for my height. Where it is correct for me, the bottom of the sliding part of the yoke (circled in red) falls into the lumbar pad on the hip belt. It may sound crazy but I can feel the yoke pushing the lumbar pad out just a little bit. Enough that it's noticable for me with 50lbs in it. My question is, has anyone ever had an issue with this, and maybe added something the same thickness as the yoke slider under the lumbar pad to "even" it out?

I hope this makes sense. PXL_20210416_002208977~2.jpg

I just looked at my Selway on the GLMT frame and yes, mine does the same.

That said, my yoke is further down as I am on the shorter side of my yokes torso adjustment and the belt is not canted at the top like yours is.

Yeah I tried it further down but that's a no go. It puts the shoulder straps in an awkward position and the load lift angle isn't what I'd consider correct.

Mine did the same and I just trimmed off the bottom of the yoke so that it does not overlap.
I've done this on multiple MR packs, including their backpacking ones (ravine, coulee, etc) because I've noticed the same thing as the OP. I contacted MR about it and they said they would forward it to their design team and that it was "ok" to trim off the bottom of the yoke but it would void the warranty (just on the yoke).

Glad I'm not the only one, but at the same time that's a pretty decent design flaw to me. Just make that shorter segment not part of the advertised adjustment range.

I took 4 small pieces of card board, taped them together and slid them under the lumbar pad to even it out. I don't feel the bump any more. I can't say I'm real impressed with the fit of this pack. I'll use it over the summer to see if I get used to it, but maybe MR packs aren't for me. Hard part about where I'm at is the inability to try on all the different packs to see what fits.

It's not just Mystery ranch. It happened on my old Kifaru duplex frames too. It's probably to provide a wider range of torso lengths with the same "size".
