Mounts for older Zeiss Classic 10x40 Binocs on Tripod

I have some of the older armored Zeiss Classic 10x40's that have focus and diopter adjustments in the place that several of the binocular mounting systems seem to attach. What system works well for holding the binocs that don't easily adapt to a stud?

Outdoorsmans clamp works really good, used it on same 10x40 and also Zeiss 8x42 FL t*

Bushnell also makes a Universal bino mount, that attaches on the tripod with the 1/4" stud...and Velcros around the binos (I think $20) Leica makes a similar version but a heavy rubber hold down band, that adjusts to different size binos...$40ish last I saw.

I also have the Classic 10x40B model, great glass and a real performer even today.

I used a Bog-pod bino rest, the original rubber strap puked almost immediately, I shaved all the crap off it and used Hook and Loop strap. Worked out ok....

Do you happen to know which model it is that fits. I see a 42mm clamp and another 45mm clamp on the Outdoorsman's website.

Hey Cues32, at $99 bucks the outdoors man clamp seems ridiculously overpriced. It also seems to be the best option. I also have 10x42 t fl. This will be my first experience with using my binos on a tripod. Will i be satisfied with this setup, or do u think id b throwing away coin. Not quite ready to give up my zeiss for somthing that accepts the stud. Any thoughts would help.

Quality USA made set up for sure, it will work on 40 to 42 mm binoculars, give them a call really knowledgeable there.
The zeiss fl's are great glass.

Will it give just as rock solid view as the outdoorsman stud setup. I'm considering upgrading to swaro 10x50el. Just not sure if its much of an upgrade if any at all. I must admit, I may b making too much of the two mounting setups. The stud just seems so much more rock solid and user friendly.

Throw the stud in the els, best setup out there, clamp if stud will not work ,zeiss ect

The "upgrade" question would be determined by which generation are your FL series ? If the T*FL series with the Lotutec coatings, then the upgrade is "minimal"...if just the FL which are pre-Lotutec then more is gained.

The differences are certainly viable even between the new models:
Zeiss T FL............exit pupil 4.2mm...eye relief 16mm...Twilight factor 20.40...765 grams
Swaro 10x50SV...exit pupil 5.0mm...eye relief 20mm...Twilight factor 22.36...998 grams

Both are great glass, more distortion and yellow/green cast in the FL. Swaro's large exit pupil & eye relief will make it very comfortable to use, no need searching for sweet spot in low light viewing. The weight is difference is substantial also, really depends if you're using for spot & stalk or early/late low light scouting. Obviously some of the low light performance difference is due to a larger objective lens on the Swaro, the T*FL is tops in it's 42mm class.

In mu opinion if you have the new generation FL, then don't spend the money on the Swaro...but only you know what turns your crank.

I do have the t*fl's. They are really nice and bright. I ordered the clamp by outdoorsman. I'll give this a whirl and save any upgrades for next year. This gets me started with mounting up my binos on a tripod. We'll see what everybody is raving about.

Have the 8x42 FL t* awesome glass, and upgrade would be a 12x or 15x german glass.
Binos on a Tripod is a big upgrade...
