Weight can be deceiving when talking about cats because they may not of eaten anything for a week or they may of just got jumped off a kill. However it is the most commonly used way to judge a cat. A general standard is that a 140-150 pound Tom is a big trophy sized cat. A 200 pound cat is a very rare giant and comparable to a 400 inch bull elk.Dont wanna derail a thread here, but out of curiosity what is a big cat? I hear some really big numbers thrown around. In my mind a 120-140 pound cat would be a really big one? I never hunted them or even saw one but figured someone in this thread could clear that up.
