Mountain Goat Taxidermy

I really like that. When you caped and dressed it had you kept the hole hide. I ask as we only kept to the calves (in human terms).

You can you see in the pic that he's pretty impressive with his shoulder mass.

Would be cool to try to show that in his mount. Afraid maybe we didn't keep everything we needed to

I kept the whole hide, at that point I wasn't sure if I'd do a whole body or half. He sure does look like a large goat, any guesses on live wieght?

Dang. Hindsight is 20/20.

Not too sure of live weight. Took a lot of effort to drag him down the mtn in the snow. L

Had my taxi mount the head and leave the hide alone, just tanned. Folded her up and put her in a trapper nelson I’ve been waiting to put to use. Pretty happy with how it turned out!

I’m usually just a euro mount guy but this might be the coolest idea I’ve seen yet.

I've posted this elsewhere on Rokslide before, but might as well add it to this thread. Started as a full body form that was shaved down. I ended up taking the entire hide. The rear 1/3 is tanned as a throw and it allowed the taxi to cover the entirety of it with fur rather than felt or trying to hide portions of it with artifical rock/moss/trees. I'd really like to add another pedestal in the opposite manner as this goat, so downhill facing right.

That's a great looking Kodiak Goat. Shot one myself there this fall and looking to possibly have a
lifesize mount done similar to yours. If you wouldn't mind sharing can you give me an idea of the cost
with the base? Thanks

Hi,
Had a full body SE goat done last year and price with base came in at 3K. Just thought I'd contribute so maybe you have an average range of cost.

Can't remember off the top of my head, but I think it was around $800 for the base and $4,000 total.

Assuming you went guided. Who was your outfitter? I went with Kodiak Backcountry Adventures.
