motorized boat river hunt 2025

Hello,

was wondering on a different discussion as some are doing float and fly in if any are doing river trip with a motorized boat?

of course i have the bible from Larry Bartlett but like to know your tips and tricks on it. im doing it only since we are in the Yukon so since 2011.

In the past I have run a river boat from the launch on the haul road at the Yukon river in Alaska to the Huslia river, 3 day journey each way. Not for the faint of heart. We had to carry 400 gallons of gas on board the boat and stop in Galena or Tanana to buy more. Used to spend $5,000 just on gas but now it would likely run close to $7,500.
No regrets, fun times, plenty of moose. Never an issue with everyone in the party scoring a bull. But timing is everything. Have to be very careful not to kill anything too early due to the time involved to get back home.
