I am kicking around a 250-400CC 4 stroke enduro or TW or Supermoto with some trail tires currently....

Unless you are a good rider, anything in the 400 class will be a lot of bike on a single-track trail. The TW is a really good bike for hunting.

def more bike then needed for this, I did own a street bike before but different animal.

My though around the larger Supermotos would be bc I can swap tires and ride on streets in summer out and about town a bit more efficiently

Another bike I like is a 500 KTM or Husky. They have great low-end like the 300, but they are typically heavier than most other bikes. You might look at those for a do-all bike. I have heard the 350-class bikes are good, but I have never ridden one.

I ride a ktm 500 with a solid rifle harness on my pack,. It gets me a lot further (and faster) than the truck can. If you know how to ride dirt well, the extra power is nice. Don't rule out a tw 200, they are more than capable for most terrain.

If shit gets western don't forget you can always park the bike and hike. Important to ride safely especially if you're alone. Wear a damn helmet and have fun!

Dusting off my old 230 to turn it into a hunting rig. It doesn't have headlights. Curious if anyone has ever used the outbound lighting mountain bike lights on motorcycles? They are rechargeable lights which is kind of sucky but the ability to use it on both my dirt bike and pedal bike is intriguing.

Or does anyone have a reccomended headlight and helmet light for dirt bikes? The stock light on my KTM is shit so trying to avoid one like that.

There are a lot of LED lights you can use for a headlight I use Oxbow lights and they are great. I have bike and helmet mounted lights.

This is a good upgrade to the stock KTM headlight. Worth the price in my opinion, have had too many close calls with Elk and Deer on the bike.

I agree with this, I use a gun bearer, or if archery hunting strap the bow to my backpack. The TWs are great for mountain roads and flat open terrain, they absolutely suck on technical stuff. I finally ditched my TW after this year and am switching to a Montesa 4RT Trials bike with some trail mods and a seat. The TW's are just too heavy and way too underpowered for their size, these things make them dangerous in technical stuff. Even geared way down so you can walk next to them in first gear they are underpowered on long uphills, you're either going too slow rapped out or underpowered when upshifting.

There are a lot of great trail bikes made, Sherco, Montesta, Beta, KTM and other companies are making great trail bikes, something like the Montesa 4ride would be awesome if a person is looking for a new bike for technical stuff. Older bikes like the Honda TRL's, and some of the lighter bikes geared toward youth or women are also great trail bikes. I feel like TW's are about the worst off-trail or technical trail bikes ever made.

How did you find a Montesa 4ride in the states? Did it come with the more flat seat

350's are indeed a sweet bike. Kinda that perfect size. Still loud like most 4 strokes are though.

I'm stuck on the 2 strokes. But I'll own another 350 one of these days

Don't overlook the Italian Beta cycles. I have 2 of them. Cost a bit more but higher quality for sure and more rideable. I have a 430RRS dual sport 4 stroke and a 300RX 2 stroke MX'er. What's nice is you can build a bike with what you want on it. No other company does that. They have many models to choose from including their world famous trials bikes. Master a trials bike and you can go anywhere...literally anywhere you can walk and most places you need to climb. It's neat watching the pro's ride those things.

I'm going to sell my TW200 here soon. I just picked up a 2015 KTM 250 XCW a few weeks ago. I thought I got a decent deal. It's well taken care , has 255 hours on it. Guy well maintains it though. Paid $3500. Only thing wrong is the e start isnt working so I'll tear into it soon.
