I know that I am getting ahead of myself and in the hopes of not jinxing it I am looking for a nice motel/ hotel to stay at in Mid September and then again to overnight in again on my way back through Anchorage from my Sheep/ Goat hunt up in the Wrangells. In the event I have some good fortune and have meat to bring back I was looking for some recommendations for a nice motel with a freezer so that I can keep everything cold for my airline flight back. My outfitter mentioned one place but after reading the reviews I am going to keep looking. I am usually not that picky as anything that I don't have to blow up is always nice to sleep on after a few days out but since its my vacation why not splurge a little. Any suggestions for me folks?

The Anchorage airport has freezer storage. Small daily fee i believe. If your other plan doesn't work it's an option.
I haven't used it but I know they have it.

I simply kept my Dall sheep meat on ice until I got it to the processor.

I used the airport freezer for fish. Also a number of hotels close to the airport had freezers you could use. Just call and ask. It's standard practice.

The Long House was the suggestion and I was looking for some other options. Now that is a hunting/fishing friendly city if the airport and a lot of motels have that option!

I have stayed at the Millenium and Crowne Plaza Midtown, both have freezer storage, the Millenium would be my choice. There are lots of fish and meat processors in Anchorage if you want your meat cut, wrapped, frozen whatever, they also pack boxes and freeze for you.

If you do score and you are looking at having it processed prior to getting it home, I would highly recommend C&J Meats. They're located just down the road from the airport, probably about a mile or so, on International Airport Road. They will make all of your cuts for you, burger, breakfast sausage, Italian sausage, etc., and vacuum seal it in the most durable/thick vacuum seal bags I have ever seen, all for a $1.50/lb. Sometimes they'll even do it right then and there while you wait, if you need it processed quickly. Or if you can leave it with them for a day, they'll process and flash freeze it.

Before I moved to the valley and lived in Fairbanks I came down and stayed at the Long House for a long weekend. I had no complaints the room was huge compared to other places.

I've stayed at the Millenium as well and really like it. Fair price. Clean room. Very close to the airport. Free airport shuttle. Great Ambience in the lobby and lounge with animals all over the walls and outdoors theme, nice place I thought.

Snapped this today outside the security check at the Anchorage airport.
