162gr ELD-M in my 7RM. Things die fast. I have two 300"+ elk, one cow elk, and one muley buck since making the switch. Between those four animals distance traveled after shot is 80 yards and 20 seconds time elapsed before belly up.

Many kills with 175 eldx. As long as they impact below 2900 or so they are solid.

I did have one above 3000 and although dead as could be, didn’t like the terminal results. Still my go to though, I just shoot/load appropriately.

One of the reasons I love a short-barrel setup and not chasing the biggest magnums in a given caliber.

I start mine at "only" 2770 MV out of my 18" SUAM — which gives me more confidence in close-range performance, and with such an efficient bullet, longer-range capability.

Probably not the best bullet, but it has worked well for my kids. They shoot 7mm-08 and use the Hornady reduced recoil custom lite ammo shooting the 120 sst at 2750fps. Over the last 2 years they have taken 2 large mule deer and 5 whitetail. 80-242 yards all one shot done.
