Most accurate mechanical head

Any broadhead, fixed or mechanical, will hit with your field points if your bow is tuned and you have good form. Assuming that broadhead spins true anyways. (And, ignoring vertical drop of a bigger broadhead at long range)

Most forgiving? Go with the smallest. Something like Thorn will be the most forgiving, but I personally like Rage and SEVR when I shoot mechanicals.

Right on thanks man I’ll look into those my bow is tuned nicely but I shoot out to 80 yards here in the desert looking for a good long range forgiving broadhead I use swhackers currently

Best thing you can do first is get a bigger fixed blade head. Make sure it spins true. Then shoot it at 80 yards and compare it to your field points at 80 yards. They should hit the same point, with the fixed blades starting to hit a little low as distance increases.

If you have any consistent left / right misses - work on your bow tune first.

For the record, I personally won't ever be using Thorn, but you asked for the "Most Accurate".

The most forgiving/accurate mechanical I have shot so far is the Sevr. Even in windy conditions, they fly with my field points out to 70 yards and more.

I only shoot critters out to 60. For me the G5 deadmeat has been very accurate to 70 yards (so ten yards further than I really need) with no change in POI from field points.

I usually am not a fan of mechanical broadheads but after doing quite a bit of research with the different broadhead tests and reviews, I ordered some SEVR's.

I am pretty impressed with them so far. Have been doing some testing on them myself and they are pretty damn tough. I don't think I would hesitate to shoot an elk with one and I am a pretty strong minded fixed blade guy.

My big concern has always been angled shots but I shot into a piece of plywood at about a 45 degree angle at 50 yards and was suitably impressed.

I think I am going to give them a try this year. Just my experience for what it's worth. Which ain't much! :)

Orginal rocket steelhead, the 1.25 125 grain version were excellent Raptor Tricks been good for me and shoot spot on. I liked the way the 1.5 sevr shot, until I killed a buck with it and got terrible performance.

Going to go with the crowd here and +1 for Sevr.

Flight is nearly matched to my field points. In my neck of the woods, they've been devastating on deer and javelina and I've watched 3 elk go down with Sevrs. 2 years ago I put down a 6pt bull on opening day with a 2.1 Sevr at 35 yards. From hit to last breath was under 30 seconds. 6 days later my buddy dropped a 5pt bull from 70 yards and it was on the ground in a similar time. After that, I swore I'd never use another broad head.

True to form, I'm using them again on my early archery elk hunt this year and am not worried in the least bit.

When shooting mechanicals I have used spitfires. I tested several probably 10 years ago, spitfires were the best for me. I'm sure there are other options now. I honestly haven't had a single issue with them, probably recovered several animals that I wouldn't have otherwise because of the giant cut. But have taken the route of fixed blade, should be less to worry about. Time will tell. Might go back to them.

I've had excellent luck with the 1.5" original Spitfires flying like field points and performing very well on animals of all sizes. I spined a walking black bear this sprng, Spitfire went though the scapula and cut the spinal cord. Very good penetration from a 65# bow w/29" draw and 475 gr arrow.

I’ve had good accuracy with the rage hypodermic +p, might pick up some Sevr’s to try. Not sure I’m sold on the pivoting blade though.

I'll be contrary on Sevr. I used the predecessor, the Ulmer Edge and moved away from them despite shooting a grizzly, Roosevelt Elk, black bear, Coues buck, blacktail and a few whitetails with them. I'm just not a two blade fan and ended up with poor blood trails versus 3-blade heads. They certainly were accurate!

Rocket Steelhead 125 was my absolute favorite. Been running the 2.1 Sevr as a replacement. More than likely changing to the G5 deadmeat (no current experience / like 3 blades over 2)
