Rifle Kraft Kraft Chucks

BLUF: they are no doubt effective, but I need more work in dynamic application with them.

I bought a set a chucks from Mr. Wray. Figured it was better than sending him $5 for his very helpful content that he has put out over the years.

I am using them on a RRS 22i tripod, with the bottoms about halfway up the outer leg. Did some dry practice with them to get them where I liked. I did put my tripod chaps back on, figuring they might protect and hold the chucks in position better…but no.

I did a little live fire and zero confirmation at 100 yards with them, after reconfiguring from NRL Open Heavy to Open Light. They definitely made a difference for me with standing tripod. Even though it’s only a few rounds, this photo is representative of what I’d seen dry practicing.

I’m more comfortable shooting tripod kneeling, so I didn’t see as pronounced improvement, but they made me more stable and I was able to fire at least sooner, if not more accurately.

I just used them shooting RO day at the Prairie Stampede NRL match. I was a soup sandwich…did I mention reconfiguring everything?

I made some shots with them where I remember them helping. There was a standing tripod stage where I used them and was not effective, but because of other factors (wind / my lack of skill). Several times I managed to knock one of them off the tripod. I wish the bottom ball was harder to pop out of the collar. The tripod chaps probably made it worse because they kept the upper portion from locking in as well as they could. I will call this user error, though; and will be removing the tripod chaps to see if it helps.

*heavy sigh*
*looks at wallet*
How much does it weigh? Website doesn't seem to give specs at least on a one-pass look on my phone.
Thanks
They only weigh a few ounces. I didn’t weigh them, but it is essentially insignificant weight addition to the tripod.
