For the upcoming hunt season, I need to be able to charge my laptop even on the mountain. What do you all know about either of these? Thanks

I have been running the Goal Zero Sherpa 50 Kit this year , and its been awesome . The Solar panel works great and the power pack is sweet and seems bullet proof so far .

I have a goal zero 10 with solar panel. It will charge my kindle fire HD. It does have a car(cigarette) jack so maybe you could plug your laptop into that to get a charge.

Goal Zero solar panels and Goal Zero Silver battery pack. That way I have power reserved for a rainy day or six.

Robby, it's time to bite the bullet and get a smart phone :) you have surely gotten your mileage out of that laptop by now... I can still picture you running around with it at SHOT. :-)

I have no experience with the mophie at all, and my goal ero use has been with smaller electronics only. We have been pleased with our goal zero set up for charging iPhones/iPods, but I can't speak to how it would work on a larger electronic item like a laptop. My favorite feature of our goal zero setup is that the solar panel (we have the nomad 7) and battery pack (guide 10, with an extra set of 4 rechargeable AA batteries too) can be used independently. Lots of shorter trips we leave the panel at home all together and just take the battery pack. For longer trips, or when we have more weight allowance then we bring the panel and recharge the batteries when the weather permits. We always charge off the batteries rather than directly from the panel...inconsistent current from things like the sun going behind a cloud for a sec make the apple products finicky, plus it's nice to be able to charge rgardless or light or weather.

HAHA, Becca don't forget the Bluetooth in his ear. High tech redneck!

Becca, I finally got an iPhone 4s. Me so big!

Still need the lap top or I can't run video to the blog and forums. A tablet would be better but can't afford one yet.

Looks like I'll just be buying spare batteries as the Mophie won't charge a lap top (at least that's what BB says) and can't get a Goal Zero big enough on this short of notice. Need the Sherpa but can only get the Yeti. Oh well.
