A few years back on my first alaska trip it was mentioned to bring moose estrus urine and dip cotton swabs on them then hang them on tree branches. We had moose come check them out but we were also calling from them so I'm not sure how much it helped. Does anyone have any insight into using them? I think it may be helpful to cover up some scent as well

check out your local hunting rules as here in the yukon per example you cannot use urine or salt licks contrary to many other jurdictions in canada ...

Yeah if memory serves. It's illegal to use cow moose urine scent for moose hunting season

I can’t speak on it for loose but they make some pretty good bear sents. Just don’t wanna walk around grid country smelling like food.

Shouldd you come across a wallow, you could roll around in it by accident :)
One year my partner took a nice bull. He kept the bell, because it smells bad, but left it at my house. I put it in a plastic bag and the freezer. The following year I took it out of the freezer and let it thaw out. Just before I went hunting, I've open up the bag. And started throwing up, it was so, so bad.

my rec is to stop the non-sensical approaches to moose hunting. You don't need it, period. Just get in country and hunt then harvest one. there is no special trick or potion that will up the odds of success, only nose to earth and eyes to horizon.

If you were a moose, would you get fired up by the scent of an animal you don't even know about like a horse? Come on, what is goin on here really?
