Hello! My husband is looking in to booking a moose hunt for the fall of 2027. We are leaning in to booking with Newfoundland Adventures Outfitters. They have 5 good testimonials on their website... My husband over thinks though and he's worried that it won't be a good experience. Has anyone hunted with them before?
Do you recommend any other outfitters in Newfoundland that costs around $9500 USD, which includes airport pickup and 95% success rate minimum. I appreciate your help!

No experience with them, but there are dozens of threads on this subject if u do a search on here. There are a lot of outfitters there with great success rates. Is he looking for a cushy lodge or a remote camp? Is he looking for any moose or a trophy caliber moose?

I haven't seen anything in particular about this outfitter. He doesn't need it to be fancy. He just wants a nice bull

No experience with them. Im booked with Off The Grid Adventures this fall for their fly-in lodge hunt. Might be a good options as well to look into, but is an extra $1,000 for the lidge based fly-in. Otherwise have him look into places that Canada in the Rough has hunted at recently.

I booked with Northern Lights Adventures last year for this coming September. They have been easy to work with and I haven't found a negative review about them yet. Meets all your criteria you want. I found them on Book Your Hunt.

I would recommend New Brunswick as well. Getting to and out of Newfoundland is the downfall. I know many that either arrive late or get out of the island late due to weather. They have moose no question snd it is very nice place to hunt but when you can drive right to the camps in New Brunswick snd hsvd a great chance at a trophy bull thsts a plus for me. The outfitter i use for bear does moose hunts as well and proven track record.

Is this float plane in or drive to? Personally I wouldn't do drive to in Newfoundland. The great part of Newfoundland in the lack of accessibility to the interior. Drive to you are competing with all the locals.

First things first.

You’re a great wife for trying to make his experience a good one.

He’s not overthinking it. Outfitters vary from great to terrible and it pays to do the leg work. Every outfitter can provide glowing references and testimonials. These are better than nothing but must be taken with a grain of salt, good or bad.

If he’s been around a while, the word kind of gets out about an outfitter. An internet search will usually show a trend. A phone conversation can be helpful, but some charlatans can still talk a good game.

Typically, a few outfitters will be consistently mentioned as good and will stand out. They may cost a bit more and require a wait, but this is better than wasting time and money with a sketchy outfit.
