I don't have any sexy photos of sixty inch bulls to share but you might be interested to read about something we experienced during our recent moose hunt (PDF attached). We saw about 5 sublegal bulls this season and 7 grizzlies. Two of the grizzly sightings included them actively hunting moose that we were watching. Be safe out there! A few pics of the hunt for fun. I can't seem to load MP4 video files here.

Thanks for sharing the story and somehow (IMO) we need to increase hunting pressure on bears.

Interesting tent/stove. What do you have there?

ADFG recently increased the bag limit for grizzlies in this unit to 2/yr. The problem is they are not easy to catch out in the open to get a shot. I'll try to go back there someday and use a predator call to see if I can tag one or two after moose season.

We've been using an insulated, pop-up, ice fishing tent for a few years now. It's awesome. It's like a pop-up wall tent. It is heavy and bulky but if you have a machine to haul it it makes for a great camp. The actual tent is an Eskimo FatFish 9416i.

Grizzly's are why you don't take a pip squeak rifle caliber moose hunting. Sure, you may be able to kill a moose with your .243 or wiz bang 6.5 whatever but do you really want to be holding it in your hands when a grizzly is chomping its teeth and charging you from 10 yards away?
I didn't think so!
