Got an elk and bear tag for unit 64 near Montrose. Wanting to know a good taxidermist and meat processor near there. I’d be willing to drive an hour or so to get to a good taxi. Thanks!

Used both. Kinikin has lots of options/very commercial but definitely mixed my meat in with other elk to make sausage (told me when asked), my confidence they used my elk for other things was low.

Good's has limited options and overall was o.k. quality but the folks sure are nice and do seem to keep it separate.

Yeah I’m just looking for the basic cuts and I will make my own sausage later on. I’ll be coming from Texas so I was hoping to maybe have one processed and frozen to take back. That is if I kill one early on the trip. Thanks for the info!

Cindy from big Horn taxidermy did my bear last year she did a great job and was the cheapest in town,

Kinnickin processing does not have a good reputation here. we all use Goods processing.

Thanks for the heads up!

Bobby Esplin up in delta is the best taxidermist in the area in my opinion. He is up in delta

I used Goods and they did an excellent job and I got a lot of meat. Hard froze it quickly. Very friendly and professional. If I get another elk I will make the hr drive to Montrose.
