One more caveat that I think someone brought up else where, if you go into it with zero to try and take advantage of the 25% pool, if not drawn you can’t buy a preference point that year. So the following year you either go into it with zero, or buy a point and be in no man’s land with 1 point, and hopefully draw with 2 the next year………. Is that correct?
Yes, that is correct. Can still hunt every other year as long as you get drawn with your 2 PP.

I’m assuming guides site on the board who make the decision? Agree the prices for the deer tag has sky rocketed so high. This year I noticed not as many people hunting where I go. I remember doe tag was $75 and now $150. Buck tag around $700. It’s allot. A moose tag in alaska isn’t that much.

Probably because the deer hunting here has turned into an absolute shit show on public land! Too many people and not enough deer need big changes to happen in the coming years
