Bought a Montana Knife Company Stubhorn. Overall it seems that it will be great hunting blade. I was really disappointed in the finish quality of this knife especially given its price range. Check out the pics.
Their website shows lots of love for every blade, but I have yet to figure out how to leave a review on it.

I think they will send an email with a review link if I remember correctly. Did you reach out to them? I assume they will make it right for you, they have great customer service from what I have seen. Though for the cost you shouldn’t have to need it of course.

Response for MKC,
We hope you've been enjoying your MKC blade. In regards to the spine markings on your magnacut blade, those are due to the way they are cut out during production. We think of them as the knife's fingerprint as no two will be the same. As they do not effect the cutting ability we do not consider those marks a defect.

They are no different than most other factory made knives. Difference is they have great marketing and charge 2x the price. I'd rather go full custom or save some money and buy a Benchmade or something along those lines.

The tooling marks are common. Be careful critiquing them. The fan boys will rip you a new rear end spouting off that "it's a tool" or "it gives it character" or "it looks cool"

Personally it annoys me given the price point of the knives. They could easily sand it off but to save money they don't, they then pass it off as a unique touch. Lol....

Yikes! Can’t imagine telling someone who bought one of my knives anything remotely like that! Essentially “we chose not to edge finish our blades because it would take a few minutes, so we send them out as the laser cut them and call it a fingerprint and hope you will think that is somehow quaint.”
🤦🏻‍♂️🤯🤦🏻‍♂️

That is insane. I’d return it you can buy a handmade knife for $150 that looks better

As a custom knife noob, wouldn’t a few minutes of sanding during assembly fix those finger prints?

Super easy fix...if I have one single mark like that it would never ship.
Right??? I guess you really have to have a loyal following for them to accept that kind of excuse… not to mention pretty low standards to cook up that excuse in the first place.

I liked them when they started but their antics the last 1-2 years have irritated me.

Do nothing but whine and bitch about how social media and other makers are out to get them. Hang out and promote with only fans thots and send out subpar production stuff like this.

That’s a horrible response for a quality product. The problem with blade assembly technicians assembling components versus a blade smith building a knife. Even mass production companies need to have a process to remove the water jet edges on a blade. Calling it a fingerprint is some serious gaslighting. 😂
