No feedback on this particular model, but based on what the description looks like, it seems overpriced. A Cooper or a Fierce will review and perform much better, and those companies will provide you better customer service. I've had a horrible time with MT rifle company and one of their X2 rifles - detailed in a couple other posts on here. I know they have been acquired by Nosler, but I doubt the whole company has turned over - which is what's needed.

You can get better value, and a better product from many other companies.

Hello, I am new to the forum and have purchased this rifle for my wife. We ordered it with the upgraded trigger set to two pounds and picked it up two weeks ago from a friend who custom ordered it but wanted a Sako we had. We followed the instructions for breaking in the barrel and took it to our friends range. We were very pleased with how it functioned. We put a schmidt bender 3-12×50 klassik Illuminated with nightforce low mount rings on and torqued to spec, the laser had it very close and with 6 clicks left we put it in the center on the 2nd round. We used the bore guide, sweets 7.62 and cleaned after each shot at 100 yards for the first 10 rounds. The Hornady 140 ELD Match clover leafed at 100 yards off of bags and a wooden shooting bench. We took it back to 200 yards and zero adjusted the scope. The range only goes to 385 yards and we had fired 14 rounds total when we went and put it on the bags. The first two rounds with roughly 12 inches holdover were within a 1/2 inch of each other and we changed over to the Hornady 143 ELD-x and hit our two steel plates with 1 miss which was low. In short I would say that this rifle will shoot with most of our bench guns if we had a vice, I know the rate of fire must be very slow strings do to the light barrel but, we are very very happy with this rifle. Our friend had ordered this with a pair of 375 Safari rifles at SCI Dallas and we are glad we ended up with this, he had similar results with his riflea. The Steyr Scout 308 Jeff Cooper is my wife's main hunting rifle and I can honestly say this makes a very good companion. The weight is only 5 ounces different and with this accuracy we will definitely use this as a primary rifle. The fit and finish is awesome, the action is smooth but lockup is very tight but that is machining tolerances which is a good thing. We looked at the Barrett Fieldcraft very closely in Tennessee at their factory store and just felt this was better balanced and we liked the features. I will update after this upcoming season, we are going to New Mexico and Colorado in addition to here in Georgia. I hope this helps and I will post some pictures of the next shoot.

Really? Wow I wonder why, the 6.5 Creedmoor performs awesome and the accuracy is exceptional.

I got an x2 took over a year to get. When I got it wouldn’t pick up a round all the time so sent it back on my dime. The magazine box ended up being bent and in crooked. It cycles better now but during the season it didn’t pick up a round in the field. It shoots good and I like the rifle and would be willing to buy another one. It is cambered in 6.5-284 Norma.

A few years back I was looking for an all around 30-06, it came down to the Montana x2 or a m70ewss.

Every time I read a thread about Montana rifle co, I’m glad I went with the m70ewss.

The choices in rifles out there is amazing! Have two friends with Winchester model 70 Extreme weather,
one in .270 and the other in .300 Win mag, both are very accurate right out of the box with factory ammo.

Bowshot2 where did you find out they quit making them? I like mine so much I was going to get a 2nd one in 25-06. That sucks because it's a great rifle. I am heading our west next week, this is my go to rifle. I was looking at the Barrett and guess I will start looking at them again.

I don't have any rounds through one but I went to the MRC shop. I handled an X2 an X3 and an Extreme Ascent. It looked and felt great, I ended up ordering an X3 to save a little money and it is scheduled to be delivered sometime in October. So I'll let you know if they got better about their leadtime.

They quit making them....
Crazy.

They actually were supposed to make them in lefty, but before I could actually decide to put in an order *poof* out of production.
Other than the plastic TIkka, leftys are sh t outta luck.
RIghties have a ton of options, Wetheryby ultralight, Barrret Fieldcraft, Kimber Ascent, etc, etc.

I ordered mine in .30-06. And to Broomd's point I ordered it in Lefty. If I were a rightly I might have opted for a Kimber or a Weatherby.

The shop was very cool basically just a machine shop, not a showroom or anything. The rifles they showed me were whatever they had lying around.

Also I seem to recall them talking about making changes to the Ascent so I imagine it will come back to production.

Hope so! I was pretty excited about this gun, but I procrastinated longer than I should have with an order.
