Montana elk and deer draw dates ?

The Montana website is saying mid April for the draw announcement , anyone with inside knowledge on the exact day ? I kind of need them to crush my dreams of my lotto odds first choice so I can concentrate on my real choices of where to hunt with a general tag. Every time I try to look at maps and make plans for my reality I get sidetracked into looking at my first choice HD with odds tthat would be like getting struck by lightning on a clear day. Anyone else struggling to stay grounded in reality while waiting for the draw ?

Shrek, last year the results were several days after the 15th it's no fun. I just do my best not to think about it. My first choice for an elk permit is the worst odds in the entire state. My first choice for a buck is about 30%.

I saw on the FWP website that they would be out the week of the 22nd.

I hear ya Shrek, I've been dealing with the same issue!! I was hoping mid april means 12am on the 15th!

I only put in for deer. I wouldn't have done that but I saw a buck that would have gone well above 200" in my headlights and he has been hanging in my mind ever since. It's a less than 1% draw district for a reason. I just saw him for a few moments but dang ! What a deer ! Otherwise I'm happy with a general combo in my pocket and some mountains. Any legal elk will do.

Wednesday will be a long day. Where I am working there is no cell reception let alone data. Sure would be nice to pull a LE tag.

I put in for the draw with the worst odds as well. Filling in the time by concentrating on turkey and spring bear.

Thats what they said last year, the few extra days it takes to get everything posted is nerve racking.

Well , I've got my combo tag drawn and the preference draw is pending. Sure wished they would get on with it !

I have checked about 50 times today without anything yet. Not sure why I'm so excited as I feel there is good elk hunting in OTC unit all over the state.

You would think that in this day and age that the information would be entered as it is received and on the given day they could punch a button and it would be done in an instant.

I didn't enter any LE draws so I was just happy to log in yesterday and see the successful beside deer and elk combo tag. Fun fall will commence in 4 short months!
